My Freight story - the logistics project of Dubai Metro (05)

Surging Freight Volume, Seeking Transportation Resources

In the Dubai Metro project, we faced the challenge of huge freight volumes, handling up to 2,000 containers each month. To ensure the project's success, we not only relied on air freight but also actively expanded our sea freight resources.

We collaborated with Chinas top shipping companies, COSCO and China Merchants, while utilizing all shipping companies that could reach Dubai, including CMA and Hapag-Lloyd. For air freight, we partnered with airlines like Emirates and Etihad, and used charter services in Shenzhen.

To improve efficiency, we explored new transportation routes, such as flying from Hong Kong to Taiwan via China Airlines, then transshipping to Abu Dhabi, and finally trucking to Dubai. We also tried shipping goods from Shanghai to Urumqi, then chartering a direct flight to Dubai, effectively saving time and costs.

By flexibly reallocating transportation resources, we successfully tackled the freight challenges of the Dubai Metro project, showcasing our logistics strategy and team execution.
